I did not get a chance to post a recap of my long run yesterday because I got busy so I’m posting it today. Yesterday’s run was my second attempt to run the a half-marathon distance (13.1 miles). I was supposed to do two weekends ago but because of my wife’s bike accident, we had to cut it short and swap the schedule around with yesterday’s long run.
The run went well. I finished with an average pace of about 9:38 min/mile. I felt good and in control for most of the way. The last 2 miles was when I started feeling some fatigue but I was still able to push the pace on the last mile making that the best lap. It’s a little scary to think that I’m going to have to cover this distance twice on race day. But then I again, I look back 3 years ago, 2 miles seemed like an impossible task.
Yesterday also marked the end of Week 9 which means I am now at the halfway point of the training. Halfway home baby! I have a feeling it only gets tougher from here. My long run for this weekend is 15 so I have to be honest I’m a little intimidated. I also feel like I’m about to have a cold. I got runny nose since this morning. I hope it’s just allergy and will go away soon.
